Brighton and Hove Albion’s Bruno has expressed his delight after he was named in the PFA Championship Team of the Year earlier this week, reports the Seagulls’ official website.
Last weekend’s 2-1 victory over Wigan Athletic secured Brighton’s promotion to the Premier League, and Chris Hughton’s side now require just three-points from their remaining three fixtures to secure the Sky Bet Championship title.
Albion’s club captain was named in the PFA team on Thursday, which is chosen by fellow professionals, ahead of Huddersfield Town’s Tommy Smith in the right-back position.
Bruno was named alongside teammates, David Stockdale, Lewis Dunk and Anthony Knockaert, as Hughton’s side once again dominated the end of season awards.
Reflecting on his achievement, Bruno said: “I’m really happy about that. To be in the starting 11, chosen by other players, is so important.
“I’m really pleased. They play against everyone, so it means a lot to me.”
Hughton’s side are looking to secure the Championship title this evening, when they face Norwich City at Carrow Road.
Following this weekend’s fixture, Brighton face Bristol City and Aston Villa, to complete the Championship season.
