Brighton and Hove Albion’s Sam Baldock insists his side will be looking for all three-points this evening, and nothing less, despite facing Newcastle United, reports the Daily Star.

The Seagulls welcome Rafa Benitez’s side to the Amex Stadium, where the Sky Bet Championship’s top-two clash, knowing victory for either side will give them the advantage in the race for the title.

Chris Hughton’s side were 3-0 victors over Reading at the weekend, which saw them move to the top of the Championship table, leapfrogging Newcastle who had dropped points with a home draw against Bristol City.

Sam Baldock, who scored his tenth goal of the campaign on Saturday, says his teammates aren’t getting too far ahead of themselves, he told the Daily Star: “It is a cliché but it is one game at a time and we don’t want to lose focus on what is in front of us.

“It is an exciting place to be but we have to make sure the 11 on the pitch are focused on the job in hand.”

A draw would see Brighton maintain their position at the top of the Championship table, knowing that Newcastle face promotion chasing Huddersfield Town and Reading in the coming week.

Baldock is however, focusing on maximum points from this evening’s fixture, he continued: “We go into every game with a game plan and looking to win and Tuesday will be no different.

“Newcastle have some fantastic players, especially at this level and we are looking forward to pitting our wits against one of the best teams.”

Following tonight’s clash, Brighton face away trips to two sides battling relegation, when they travel to Nottingham Forest and Rotherham United.
