Brighton and Hove Albion considering a move for out-of-contract Championship man

Chris Hughton is considering adding Ryan Bennett to his Brighton and Hove Albion squad ahead of the Premier League season, following the defender’s release from Norwich City, reports the Daily Mail.

Brighton are embarking on their first season back in the top-fight since 1983, and Hughton is looking to add a handful of players to his squad, in a bid to establish the Seagulls in the Premier League.

Bennett is set to become a free agent this summer, with Norwich opting not to extend the contract of the central defender.

The 27-year old has plenty of top-flight experience, having featured for Norwich in the Premier League between 2012 and 2014, then again during the 2015/16 campaign.

Bennett made 37 appearances at Carrow Road this season, as Norwich struggled to an eighth-placed finish in the Championship, despite starting the campaign as one of the favourites for promotion.

Brighton fans… Would you like to see Bennett at the Amex Stadium next season? Let us know your thoughts!
