Watford and Brighton have had bids of £1.5m accepted by Eredivisie side Feyenoord’s Elvis Manu and are now set to discuss personal terms with the player.

According to the Guardian, Manu is being chased by a number of European sides this summer, with Portuguese giants Sporting and Bundesliga outfit Bayer Leverkusen among those interested in completing a move for the 22-year old. However, Manu is keen on a move to England.

Chris Hughton's Brighton and Hove Albion have started the season excellently and look like they could potentially be in with a shout of the play-offs, and the club are seemingly eager to enhance their squad to give them the best opportunity of promotion.

It is thought that Feyenoord are looking to sell some players after the arrivals of Dirk Kuyt from Fenerbahce and former Southampton midfielder Eljero Elia to balance their wage budget.

Manu, has impressed in the last couple of seasons, at Feyenoord and during loan spells at Excelsior and SC Cambuur, but is not part of manager Giovanni Van Bronckhort’s plans this campaign.

Ghana manager Avram Grant has also taken notice of Manu’s performances both at club and Netherlands youth level and has been courting him to play for the African country’s national side, even though he was born in Dordrecht, to Ghanaian parents and thus, qualifies to play for Grant’s side.

Manu will surely prefer a move to the top-flight with Watford, but his first-team opportunities may be limited, so a move to the Amex Stadium may be a more beneficial for him as a individual, to help him progress and develop.
