Brighton & Hove Albion, Millwall and Stevenage have joined the race to sign highly-rated non-league goal scorer Ashley Nadesan, who is being tipped to become the next Jamie Vardy and Charlie Austin, according to the Surrey Mirror.

Nadesan who currently represents Horley Town, works in Redhill's McDonald's has been in great form this season and will have done his dreams of a professional contract no harm, by notching all four goals in Horley Town's 4-0 win over local rivals Redhill on Easter Monday.

The sky is the limit for the 21-year-old, after at least six professional clubs have sent scouts to watch the Clarets star, from Premier League side Norwich City to Championship Brighton & Hove Albion, League One Millwall and League Two trio Crawley Town, Stevenage and AFC Wimbledon.

Football agent Darren Lewis did not think twice about signing up Ashley Nadesan after admitting that he has "something special" about him.

Despite this Lewis has yet to see the forward in action, the glowing reports from the Canaries' scout was enough to convince him the striker has a bright future.

"I got a call from Ashley's girlfriend's father saying I should take a look," Lewis explained.

"I've wasted many a weekend at Hackney Marshes looking for the next big thing but just finding a load of Sunday League players, but after looking at the amount of goals Ashley has scored I thought that was amazing.

"I called a friend of mine who is a scout at Norwich City and he watched him and was impressed. Of course, there were a couple of negatives, Ashley has never been coached at a professional club so he is going to be raw, but his movement and his eye for goal are exceptional.

"I don't normally take on players from this far down but all the scouts I've spoken to have said the right things and when you look at the amount of goals Ashley has scored, it all adds up.

"When I was at Swindon with Paolo Di Canio, it was just after they had sold Charlie Austin and we would often be told the story of his rise through the pyramid and then there is Jamie Vardy as well. It definitely easier with strikers, but clubs are more willing to look at players now."
