Brighton and Hove Albion agree deal for defender

Brighton & Hove Albion have agreed a deal with Fleetwood Town for the signing of 20-year-old Tyler Hornby-Forbes, according to HITC.

The deal will be for two years, with the player initially joining up with the Sussex-based club’s Under-21 team, before stepping up to the full side at a date yet to be confirmed.

It is believed that Chris Hughton has been chasing Forbes for a while now, with the ex-Norwich boss finally getting his man, although it is yet to be confirmed by either club.

Hornby-Forbes made 33 appearances for the Cod Army as he helped them escape relegation by five points last season, scoring twice in the process. The 20-year old is mainly a right-back, but also made ten of his appearances as a right-midfielder and one apiece in central midfield and at left-back.

This kind of versatility could help Hughton lead his Brighton team to promotion at the second time of asking, following last year’s heartbreak on the final day of the season. It also shows that the player has a good mentality, and is determined to take his chance.

Brighton fans, what do you make of this news? Can you see Hornby-Forbes featuring for you this coming season? Let us know your opinion below!
