Bright Osayi-Samuel has stated that QPR could have come away with more than a point when they drew away at Derby on the weekend.

The R's went behind as Martyn Waghorn netted for the Rams, but Eberechi Eze stepped up to dispatch a spot-kick just before half-time which seemed to give Mark Warburton's side a renewed vigour to their play.

QPR came out in the second-half and created plenty of chances, and would probably have felt that they were unlucky not to have won the game on Saturday.

It was a much needed point after the 4-0 home loss to Nottingham Forest in midweek, but the winless run for Warburton's side now stretches to seven.

Oyasi-Samuel was positive after the result, but felt the side could have come away with more than just a point after some great character shown.

Speaking to the Ealing Times, Osayi-Samuel said: “It’s actually mixed emotions for us.

"We played well and I think we could have come away with more than a point.

“Derby’s lasts results were losses and both teams wanted to prove a point and I felt like that game was a good game; they had a few attacks and so did we.

“We showed good character and resilience to get ourselves back into it.”

The Verdict

QPR had some great chances to win the game, and it was a really good game of football that Warburton will be enthused at due to the nature of their previous performances.

What the R's need to do now is push on from this result and back it up with some more points. The winless run has gone on for a long time now and it will be worrying supporters having seen how far they've dropped in the league table.

Oyasi-Samuel looked bright throughout, and the youngster is really starting to show that he can be a great talent in the future.
