Nottingham Forest goalkeeper Brice Samba has delivered a response that Forest supporters will enjoy, after being awarded the PFA Bristol Street Motors Fans' Championship Player of the Month Award for his performance for the Reds in November.

The keeper helped Forest continue their promising start to the campaign in November, helping the Reds secure three wins out of five in the Championship, picking up three more clean sheets in the process, which meant he finished above team-mate Matty Cash in the fans' vote for the award.

Samba was crucial to helping the Reds secure wins against Luton Town, Derby County and Queens Park Rangers, and was also on top form to ensure that Forest left Bristol City with a vital point despite being a man down for the final half an hour of the game.

Following the announcement of the award, Samba took to Twitter to send a determined message to Nottingham Forest supporters, saying: "Wow thank you guys just the beginning of many hopefully."

The Verdict

Given Samba's form so far this season, and in November in particular, it is no surprise to see him being noticed by supporters of not just Nottingham Forest, but also of other club's in the division, with the keeper pulling off a series of excellent saves at vital times to help the Reds keep their opponents at bay when they are put under pressure.

Samba has been a really astute signing by Sabri Lamouchi, and he has really made a difference to Nottingham Forest's ability to handle periods of pressure from opponents, with his form establishing himself as one of the best goalkeepers in the Championship.

Nottingham Forest might need to secure promotion to the Premier League this season to avoid potential suitors from making a move to sign Samba, who has shown he has the potential to develop into a high quality keeper capable of playing at the highest level.
