Brice Samba has been voted as Nottingham Forest's player of the month for September, rounding off what has been an outstanding start to life in the East Midlands for the 25-year-old.

The Congolese goalkeeper has kept an impressive five clean sheets in a total of nine appearances for the Reds, and has been an absolute revelation since arriving from Caen in the summer.

After taking the number one jersey from Aro Muric, Samba hasn't looked back since, establishing himself as one of the best goalkeepers in the division so far this term.

He commands his box expertly well, his shot-stopping is magnificent, and his distribution is also a key part of his game.

He has already become a fans' favourite on Trentside, and with plenty of years left ahead of him, Forest fans will be hoping that he is there to stay for years to come.

And after being voted as the Player of the Month for September, Samba has now reacted to his award, taking to Twitter to speak of his pride of receiving the recognition.

Forest sit second in the Sky Bet Championship after 11 league matches - the Reds travel to the DW Stadium to face Wigan Athletic next weekend.

The Verdict

Whilst Forest have looked really impressive going forward this season, Samba fully deserves this award.

In September, they came up against some really tough teams, but with Samba in goal, they never look like conceding because he is a fantastic goalkeeper.

He will want to thank Joe Worrall and Michael Dawson for playing their parts in helping Forest keep as many clean sheets as they have, but Samba has arguably been their signing of the season so far.
