Nottingham Forest picked up a crucial three points on Wednesday evening, as they strengthened their place in the top-six with a hard-fought 1-0 win over Bristol City.

Tiago Silva's goal proved to be the difference between the two sides, in what was a bruising encounter at The City Ground, as the Reds came out on top.

Bristol City defender Ashley Williams was sent-off late in the game for violent conduct, as the Welshman appeared to strike Forest full-back Yuri Ribeiro.

The win means that Sabri Lamouchi's side are now sat fourth in the Championship table, and will be full of confidence heading into the final six matches of this year's campaign.

Nottingham Forest goalkeeper Brice Samba took to Twitter to issue his four-word verdict on the match against Lee Johnson's side, which is certain to go down well with Reds supporters.

The shot-stopper kept his 15th clean sheet in the game, and will be keen to add to that tally as this year's campaign heads towards a conclusion.

Samba and his Nottingham Forest team-mates return to action against local rivals Derby County on Saturday, in what is certain to be a closely-fought battle between two sides that are challenging for a top-six finish this term.

The Verdict:

They'll be delighted to pick up a much-needed three points.

It's all about building momentum for Forest heading towards the conclusion of this year's campaign, and Forest are definitely starting to do just that.

Samba has played his part in that promotion bid this season, and has won Sabri Lamouchi's side vital points as they look to make a long-awaited return to the Premier League.

If they can beat Derby County this weekend, then I can't see Forest not finishing inside the top-six this season.
