Brentford are a club who are really going places.

The Bees have really kicked on in recent seasons and are now firmly in the hunt for promotion to the Premier League after inflicting their attacking brand of football on the Championship.

Thomas Frank's side have made their name with shrewd investments which is based on purchasing undervalued, high-potential players and selling them on for a hefty profit.

Developing youth has always been a big part of the Brentford mantra and as a result they've seen some great performances from their young stars over the years.

After consulting Transfermarkt we've pulled together a list of the club's top 10 youngest ever goalscorers, but how many do you remember?

Number 10 is certainly a familiar face to those in the Championship.

Jordan Rhodes has enjoyed a wonderful career in the second tier having thrived with the likes of Huddersfield Town, Blackburn Rovers, Middlesbrough and Sheffield Wednesday.

But in 2009 during his early days with Ipswich Town he enjoyed a loan spell with Brentford where he made quite a splash in his three months with the club.

Rhodes got on the scoresheet on January 27th 2009 in a 3-0 win over Aldershot Town where he was just 18 years 11 months 22 days old.

Surely a sign of things to come in his career.

A player who struggled to live up to the potential showed early in his career.

Wright came through the youth set-up with Leicester City and was sent out on loan with Brentford in the 2003-04 season where he scored three goals in 25 appearances.

One of those efforts in particular would put him in the history books.

Wright was aged 18 years 11 months 23 days when he scored for Brentford in a 2-1 victory over Hartlepool United in Division Two.

Unfortunately his career was hampered by injury and he was never quite able to fulfill his potential at the highest level.

The defender enjoyed two loan spells with Brentford during his time with Watford.

Thompson arrived at Griffin Park in 2011 and made a swift impression after finding the back of the net in an EFL Trophy clash with MK Dons in August 11th that year.

The centre-back was just 18 years 11 months 02 days old when he found the net.

Thompson went on to play for clubs such as Southend United and Bury as well as featuring on two occasions for the Northern Ireland national team.

Now with Leyton Orient, the 28-year-old is in his prime years after joining the O's in January this year.

The only person in the top 10 who is still with the club.

After coming through the youth ranks with Barcelona and Liverpool Canos was sent on loan to Brentford on what would end up being a season-long loan deal.

His first effort for the club came on November 21st 2015 as he struck against Nottingham Forest in the Championship at the age of 18 years 09 months 19 days.

While the Spaniard joined Norwich City at the end of that season Canos eventually returned to Brentford in January 2017.

Still with the club, it would be quite a story if the winger was able to play a role in helping the club to secure promotion to the Premier League.

A player who was never quite able to make the cut at Griffin Park, but he still comes it at number six on our list.

Moore came through the youth set-up at Griffin Park and despite making just one appearance for the Bees it was certainly a memorable one that would put him in esteemed company.

The young forward found the back of the net against Dagenham & Redbridge in the League Cup on August 12th 2014 - a game where he also picked up two assists.

He was just 18 years 07 months 20 days at the time

Since then Moore has spent time in Norway and Scotland before drifting out of the game in recent years.

Another player who struggled after leaving Brentford following a bright start.

Ide came through the youth set-up with the Bees and went on to make 47 appearances for the club and scored seven during their days in League One and League Two.

His first goal came on December 9th 2006 when he found the net in the League One clash Tranmere Rovers.

Ide is Brentford's fifth youngest player as he was just 18 years 06 months 29 days old when he netted.

He looked set for a bright future but upon leaving the club he spent several years competing in non-league football.

A player who had all of the potential to become one of the top strikers in the country.

Berahino was a real prodigy coming through the ranks with West Bromwich Albion and was allowed to head out on loan to Brentford in order to gain first team experience at a competitive level.

Joining in February 2012 the striker spent two months at Griffin Park after scoring four goals in eight games.

His first for the club came in the 4-0 League One victory over Carlisle United on February 20th 2012 when he was just 18 years 06 months 16 days old.

After that loan spell Berahino went on to thrive for West Brom before some disciplinary issues sent his career off the boil.

Another familiar face comes in at number three in the list.

Jeffrey Schlupp came through the youth ranks with Leicester City where he was tipped for a career at the highest level.

As part of his development he joined Brentford on loan in March 2011 - a spell which would end up being extended to the end of the season.

Schlupp found the net in the 2-1 victory over Carlisle United on March 25th 2011 - he was just 18 years 03 months 02 days when he struck.

Since then the midfielder has gone from strength to strength and has been a Premier League regular for both Leicester and Crystal Palace.

A player who looked like he was going to be a potential world-beater as a youngster.

After coming through the ranks with Crystal Palace, Bostock joined Tottenham Hotspur where he was allowed to head out on loan in search of regular first team football.

Bostock joined Brentford in the 2009-10 season and scored his first goal for the club on November 14th 2009 at the age of 17 years 09 months 30 days.

The midfielder struggled to recapture his early potential but did manage to reignite his career somewhat during a successful spell in Belgium before returning to England.

Now with Doncaster Rovers, Bostock will be hopeful that he can help the Yorkshire side to squeeze into the League One play-off spots.

Brentford's youngest ever goalscorer may not be a name who many are familiar with.

Ryan Peters came through the youth ranks at Griffin Park and went on to make 39 appearances for his boyhood club.

After leaving the Bees in 2008 he joined Margate, Braintree Town and Maidenhead United as he failed to fulfil his early potential.

That said, he still found a way into Brentford's record books after finding the net at the age of 17 years 06 months 05 days during the League One clash with Sheffield Wednesday on February 26th 2005 - a game that ended with a 3-3 draw.

Since then Peters has moved into coaching and is currently working as the assistant manager at Maidenhead United.
