Brentford midfielder Sergi Canos took to Instagram to post an update on his knee injury yesterday, as the Spaniard faces the remainder of the season on the sidelines.
During Brentford’s 1-0 defeat to Nottingham Forest last month, 22-year-old Sergi Canos sustained a knee injury which would later be revealed as a more serious one than first thought.
He had to undergo surgery on his left knee a couple of weeks ago and Bees’ boss Thomas Frank is unsure whether Canos will feature again for his side this season.
Canos yesterday posted an update on his Instagram, as he undergoes the early stages of physiotherapy on his road back to fitness.
Canos had featured in every Championship fixture for Brentford before his injury, in what is his third full-season at the club after signing permanently in 2017.
He’d had a fairly slow start to the season but nevertheless, fans still held him high-regards and are eagerly awaiting his return to first-team action.
Despite a nasty looking scar on his knee, Canos looks to be in good spirits as he begins his recovery.
Will Brentford make the Championship top-half this season?
The little Spaniard will be a huge miss for Brentford this season. He was a regular starter in the midfield for Frank, who may need to seek a short-term replacement in January.
Canos will no doubt come back stronger though and at 22-years-old, could still have a long and bright future at the club – he could well return before the end of the season for the Bees, and help them to a strong finish to the Championship campaign.
