Thomas Frank has seen his side play some excellent football of late, and with the Bees having moved into seventh place this weekend after humiliating lowly Luton Town 7-0 at Griffin Park, the west Londoners look a good bet for the play-offs this term.

Much will be made of the attacking performances put in by the likes of Ollie Watkins and Josh Dasilva, with both players playing key roles in the victory, however there is also another member of the team who deserves credit for both his weekend performance and overall showings this term.

David Raya has been in fine form since arriving from league rivals Blackburn Rovers this summer, with the 24-year-old Spaniard filling the void left by Daniel Bentley to great effect.

The goalkeeper will no doubt be delighted with the start he has made to his career with the Bees, particularly as the shot stopper has racked up seven clean sheets in his opening 19 games, whilst only conceding 14, underlining his importance to the cause.

Brentford's number one will surely be confident of his team's chances of mounting a serious play-off push, particularly as he has developed a strong understanding with the likes of Pontus Jansson and Julian Jeanvier in the Bees backline, thus making the transition from Lancashire to London a lot easier as a result.

The former Southport loanee will have been fully aware of how well regarded Bentley was during his time at Griffin Park, however the Spaniard has settled in brilliantly and will be keen to increase the amount of clean sheets he has recorded as the campaign continues.

It is fair to say that Raya has perhaps been the west London club's most impressive addition this season, with both his manager and fans alike hoping that the Spanish shot stopper can continue to keep opponents at bay as they look to break into the play-off spots.
