Brentford have confirmed via their official Twitter feed that John Egan, Lewis Macleod and Lasse Vibe have returned to action, with the trio taking part in Brentford B’s tie with Exeter this afternoon.

Macleod and Vibe have been sidelined for several weeks following knee and foot injuries respectively, whereas central defender Egan missed the draw at Middlesbrough with a mild concussion.

Brentford have struggled to pick up wins this season, and have amassed just nine points from their opening eleven Championship fixtures.

Manager Dean Smith’s side have remained competitive in all of their fixtures, but six draws in that spell in games the Bees have dominated has been extremely frustrating for all involved with the club.

The return of last year’s top scorer Vibe will be a particular boost to the club, and it is hoped the Dane will be back on the scoresheet very soon.

The Verdict

Brentford have failed to turn possession and chances into goals at times this season, and silly mistakes at the back have seriously cost the Bees.

In Chris Mepham the Londoners have an excellent back-up to Egan, with the youngster shining in the draw with Boro, but Egan is likely to return the starting line-up in Brentford’s must-win home tie with Millwall on Saturday.

The return of Vibe will inject a new lease of life into the squad, with just summer signing Neal Maupay the only man to really lead the line in his absence, and Vibe will certainly begin to convert some of the many chances the Bees create.

Macleod is also a very talented youngster who has had a woeful spell with injuries, and the Scot will hope to remain fit once he returns to the first team squad.
