According to a report by French media outlet RMC Sport via talkSPORT, Brentford are one of the clubs chasing Said Benrahma.
Benrahma is also wanted by Premier League side Huddersfield Town during the close season.
With winger Florian Jozefzoon linked with a move to West Bromwich Albion or Wolverhampton Wanderers, Brentford could find themselves hunting for a new wide man themselves this summer.
Benrahma has emerged as a target after impressing while out on loan last season.
The OGC Nice winger spent the year on loan at Chateauroux in Ligue 2 – the second tier of French football – scoring nine goals in 31 games and catching the eye of many admirers.
The 22-year-old predominantly operates from the right flank but is also capable of playing as a central striker.
Benrahma has played a handful of games for Nice and has also previously spent time out on loan at Angers and Gazelec Ajaccio.
The Bees have been monitoring the once-capped Algeria international and his progress in France, perhaps ahead of a swoop this summer.
This would be a risky move but Brentford will look to the success of Neal Maupay and this could convince them that the French market is one to tap into.
If Huddersfield are chasing him too, then the young winger might be a solid acquisition at Championship level.
Brentford will want to keep Jozefzoon and add Benrahma to enhance their promotion credentials.
