Brentford star striker still in talks with Premier League club over potential switch

According to the Sky Sports News Live Blog [19:23 GMT], talks are ongoing between West Ham United and Brentford over the future of striker Scott Hogan.

Scott Hogan was an unused substitute as Brentford lost to Newcastle United in the Sky Bet Championship this weekend.

He had missed the previous game (an FA Cup victory over Eastleigh) with a minor thigh injury.

Dean Smith fuelled transfer speculation by saying that Hogan was left on the bench “in the long term interests of the football club”, indicating that they were preparing for life without their 14 goal striker.

Scott Hogan has previously indicated that he would be willing to leave Brentford this January if a Premier League club came in for him.

West Ham have been strongly linked with a swoop for the 24-year-old as they search for a replacement for Simone Zaza, who today joined Valencia.

Talks are ongoing between the Hammers and Brentford, with Rochdale set to take a 30% slice of the reported £15m fee.

Brentford fans – would you sell Hogan for £15m? Who could you sign as a replacement? Let us know in the comments below…
