Brentford winger Sergi Canos has posted a video of himself running on a treadmill on Twitter, as he continues his comeback from injury.
The Spaniard has been sidelined for some time now, but footage showing the former Liverpool trainee running on an anti-gravity treadmill will come as excellent news to all associated with the club:
Brentford have struggled in the league so far this year, but picked up their first win of the season in the 3-0 demolition of Bolton Wanderers at the Macron Stadium on Saturday.
The Bees entertain Derby tonight at Griffin Park looking for back-to-back wins for the first time since last season, and Canosâ imminent return will surely lift the squad at Griffin Park.
Canos spent a season-long loan spell with the Bees from Liverpool before moving to Norwich City on a permanent deal in the summer of 2016.
The 20-year-old rejoined Brentford in January.
The Verdict
With Canos close to a return, it appears that the good times are finally returning to west London.
A first win of the season will hopefully be backed up with another positive result against the Rams this evening, and getting Canos back into the side will be a priority for manager Dean Smith.
He will not be rushed however, and will be given time to readjust to first-team football, but fans will be eager to see the youngster fill the void left by compatriot Jota, who departed for Birmingham in the summer.
Bees fans, how much of a boost will Canos' return be to the squad?
