Brentford will only consider selling Jota this summer for £8m, despite the forward entering the final 12-months of his contract at Griffin Park, reports Sky Sports.
The Bees triggered a 12-month extension on Jota’s contract last year, keeping him at Brentford until the end of the 2017/18 campaign, but the 25-year old is attracting interest from the Premier League already this summer.
Despite Jota able to leave Brentford for free next year, the Bees have placed a massive £8m price tag on the forward this summer, insisting he will only leave for a Premier League club.
Top-flight clubs including Everton and West Ham United have expressed an interest in Jota, whilst Burnley and Swansea City sent scouts to watch him towards the end of the 2016/17 campaign.
Jota arrived at Griffin Park ahead of the 2014/15 campaign, and played a significant role for Brentford during his first season with the club, making 44 Championship appearances and scoring 11 goals as the Bees reached the play-offs.
The forward went on-loan to Spanish side, Eibar, in January 2016, only returning to Griffin Park in January 2017.
The second-half of the 2016/17 campaign saw Jota excel under Dean Smith at Griffin Park, making 21 Championship appearances and scoring 12 goals – including a hat-trick in the 4-2 victory over Rotherham United in February.
