Arsenal midfielder Jon Toral has joined Championship club Brentford on a season-long loan deal.
Toral, who began his career with La Liga giants Barcelona, initially moved to North London in 2011 and scored six goals from 20 Under-21 games for the Gunners last season upon his return from a long-term injury in November 2013.
The 19-year-old is the second Spanish signing made by the Bees today following the capture of Jose Peleteiro Ramallo from Celta Vigo for an undisclosed fee on a three-year contract, and manager Mark Warburton is confident that his latest recruit can be successful at Griffin Park.
“Jon is a very talented attacking midfield player. He is strong and powerful,” Warburton told Brentford’s official website this afternoon.
He added: “Jon has come through a couple of nasty injuries, it is great to see him fully fit and he can now start to show his undoubted potential.
“We are thankful that Arsenal have given us this opportunity. Jon has come here to push hard for a place in the squad and the first XI. He is an excellent addition to our group.”
