Brentford are set to make an improved offer for Blackpool defender, Marc Bola according to The Sun's Alan Nixon.

It is claimed that Blackpool are prepared to accept an offer over £1m, and Brentford are keen to land his signature ahead of the new season.

It had previously been reported by Nixon, that Brentford were hopeful over coming to an agreement with Blackpool to sign the talented full-back.

The defender made 43 appearances for the Tangerines last season, and his impressive performances evidently haven't gone unnoticed, with Brentford registering their interest in landing his signature.

Bola was previously on the books at Arsenal as a youngster, and could be making a swift return back up the leagues, as Brentford are a side with real ambition going forward.

The Bees have already confirmed the signing of Pontus Jansson, and are keen to add to their defensive depth before the transfer window closes.

Blackpool are set for another season in League One, and it seems as though they may be forced to sell Bola in the near future, as he looks to move to a team playing at a higher level.

The Verdict:

This would be a great signing for Brentford if they can pull this one off.

Bola impressed me with Blackpool in last year's campaign, and he would be fully deserving of a move to the Championship, as he's got a point to prove at that level.

His attacking instincts at full-back would make him the ideal fit for Brentford, as they are a side that like to get forward in numbers and cause opposition defences a number of problems.
