With Pontus Jansson, Mathias Jensen, Christian Norgaard, David Raya and Ethan Pinnock all making their arrivals at the club in recent weeks, Brentford have now swooped for Joe Adams.

Confirmed on the club's website, the 18-year-old joins the Bees on a three-year-deal from Bury and will be play for their B team for the upcoming campaign.

Adams made his senior debut in 2018 against Northampton Town for the Shakers and featured on four occasions for the club during the previous campaign.

Although predominately a midfielder, Adams is also capable of operating as a centre-forward having done so in a Checkatrade Trophy clash with Leicester City last season.

Speaking about the teenager's decision to make the move to Griffin Park, B team Technical Lead Allan Steele said: "We are delighted with the addition of Joe to the squad, and we wish him well during his time with us.

"Joe is an exciting attacking player who stands out both in and out of possession.

"Joe showed a real desire to join the club and, with his hard work and effort, we look forward to helping him achieve his potential."

The Verdict

Although Adams will not initially be involved with the first-team, this signing nevertheless could turn out to be a real coup in the future for Brentford.

Already a Wales under-19 international, the midfielder has bags of talent which under the right guidance may result in him become a real star.

Whereas the Bees' B-side will not be involved in the Checkatrade Trophy next season, Adams will still get the opportunity to pit his wits against some of Europe's most exciting young players due to the way that the club is currently set-up.

If the midfielder can hit the ground running for Brentford, there is no reason why he cannot force his may into the Frank's plans for the senior side over the coming months.
