Brentford are showing no sign of slowing down in the transfer window as Mathias Jensen looks set to sign, report the Evening Standard.
There has been significant movement in and out of Griffin Park this summer, and The Bees have flexed their financial muscle with four additions so far.
Celta Vigo's Jensen would add to that list, with Brentford edging closer to a £3.5m deal for the midfielder.
The 23-year-old has good pedigree, and excelled at Nordsjaelland where he scored 15 goals and assisted 17 in 66 appearances.
He is very gifted on the ball and his displays earned him a move to La Liga, but the Dane endured a difficult campaign last year. Injury impacted his start and he failed to break into the first-team upon his return, making only six appearances in total.
Brentford have enjoyed success in signing Danish players in recent years, and will be hoping Jensen can match the performances of players like Lasse Vibe, Henrik Dalsgaard and Andreas Bjelland.
The Verdict
Brentford have needed a midfield playmaker who can get the ball down and play passes across the pitch since releasing Josh McEachran. Jensen fits the bill perfectly and will look to open up defences and create opportunities for Neal Maupay, should he stay at the club.
Jensen is well suited to Brentford, who boasted one of the best possession rates in the division last season. He should keep the midfield ticking over and help to ensure his team dominate the ball more often than not.
