Brentford have rejected a bid for striker Will Grigg from Wigan Athletic, according to Vital Walsall.
Wigan’s bid of a reported £700,000 is just below Brentford’s £1m valuation for the player, and the Latics join MK Dons and Bristol City in the race for Grigg’s signature.
Grigg joined the Bees from Walsall two years ago for a fee of £325,000 and still has a year left on his contract at Griffin Park.
The 24-year-old forward spent last season on loan at MK Dons and was their main man as they earned promotion to the Championship, scoring 20 league goals in 31 appearances for the Dons.
His future at the London club looks unclear after Mark Warburton stood down as manager and Marinus Dijkhiuzen was appointed the new head coach last month.
Any transfer for Will Grigg will earn Wallsall 20% of his transfer fee as part of the tribunal deal when Grigg joined Brentford in 2013.
