Brentford could be facing another summer of exodus as Sergi Canos is linked with a move to Anderlecht, report the Daily Mail.

Daniel Bentley has moved to Bristol City, whilst Neal Maupay, Said Benrahma and most recently Ezri Konsa have all been the subject of much transfer speculation this summer.

Now it is believed new Anderlecht manager Vincent Kompany is looking to make Canos his third signing for the club, after the 22-year-old impressed for The Bees last season.

The right-winger has performed well for Brentford since signing in 2017, and he is only improving. Last season he recorded his highest tally of goals and assists, with seven each in the league, despite operating as a wing-back quite often.

It is clear to see that he would be a miss for Brentford, and therefore the club should respond to Anderlecht's enquiry by demanding a substantial fee.

Canos also has two years remaining on his current deal with the option of a further year, so Brentford are not in the position to sell.

The Verdict

Canos has impressed in the Championship for a few years now so it is not a surprise to see bigger clubs interested in him.

Brentford will be aiming to keep their best players at the club and if they can do that they should have a shot at the play-offs next season. Anderlecht is not that an appealing destination other than the fact they can offer European football, but Canos should be persuaded to stay with the ambition of getting the club to the Premier League.
