It was very much a season of three parts for Brentford last year.

After a hugely promising start to the campaign under Dean Smith, his departure to take over as manager of Aston Villa coincided with something of a downturn in form that saw the Bees briefly looking over their shoulder at the relegation zone.

Smith's former assistant Thomas Frank did manage to steady the ship, and Brentford ended the season in promising style, although a place in the top six spot was ultimately out of their reach.

Even so, that is something they will be hoping to build upon next year.

For now however, their squad won't be worrying too much about that, as they enjoy a well earned summer break.

Here, we take a look at what some of them have been up to in our latest social media round up.

A player who still has a big future ahead of him in the game as he continues to develop at Brentford, the defender appears rather happy in the present for the time being.

He took to Instagram last month to post a picture of himself 'enjoying the break' in Spain.

Ezri Konsa

While many of his teammates are taking a break from the game, Konsa clearly still has plenty of football to think about.

The 21-year-old took to Instagram recently to post about his delight at being named in England's squad for the Under 21 European Championships in Italy, with the side's campaign set to begin on 18th June against France, with group stage games against Romania and Croatia hopefully set to be followed by a run in the knockout stages.

Ollie Watkins

Although Watkins could have a big decision to make in the coming weeks and months, with Sky Sports reporting that newly promoted Sheffield United are among several Premier League sides interested in the winger, he appears not to have a care in the world right now.

To be fair, when you're sitting by a pool in the Dominican Republic - as he recently took to Instagram to post a picture of him doing - you're not going to be worrying about much else are you.

Daniel Bentley

Another player linked with a move away from Griffin Park in the summer, with Bristol City rumoured to be interested, Bentley also seems pretty relaxed about his situation at the minute.

He recently took to Instagram to post a picture of him and his partner, who you get the impression may be expecting, enjoying some time away together.
