21-year-old midfielder Reece Cole has extended his loan deal away from Griffin Park for the rest of the season, as he will remain with Scottish Championship side Partick Thistle.

The central midfielder has played an important role in the club's season so far, his four goals and four assists in 15 games across all competitions making him something of a fans' favourite north of the border with the second-division Scottish club.

Partick Thistle are currently eighth in the league table, and are just two points ahead of the Championship playoffs, a one-off game against a third division club to determine whether the club would go down or stay up, and are four points above the definite relegation place.

Cole has gained experience elsewhere within senior football since coming through the academy at Brentford, having made one appearance for his boyhood club during the 2016-2017 season.

He has also featured on loan for Newport County, Yeovil Town, Maidenhead United and Macclesfield Town across the past two seasons, having gained valuable experience at League Two and National League level but is finally getting the regular game-time with Partick Thistle.

The Verdict

Cole is in good form with Partick Thistle and he is enjoying his football in Scotland as he has played a starring role for The Jags across the first half of the season.

The 21-year-old is developing his technical skills every day as well as getting to grips with the physical side of Scottish football, and he will be better off for the experience that the Scottish Championship club are giving him.
