Brentford looking to secure January loan deal for Premier League striker

Jerome Sinclair could be set for a loan switch from the Hornets to the Bees, according to a report by The Sun.

Championship club Brentford are reportedly closing in on the loan services of Watford striker Jerome Sinclair.

Brentford manager Dean Smith is apparently very keen on pushing a deal through for the young Watford forward on a six-month loan when the January window opens.

Smith wants to bolster his attacking options to take the pressure off 8-goal Scott Hogan.

His search for a striker appears to have taken him to Watford where he will look to poach Sinclair from Walter Mazzarri’s men as the youngster has not featured for the first team yet.

The loan deal apparently has no option for Watford to recall him.

The 20-year-old joined the Hornets from Liverpool in the summer in a £4m deal but he is yet to break into the first team picture.

The former England under-17 striker is set to be sent out on loan so that he can get some regular game time and develop as a player in the second tier.

Brentford fans – are you pleased with this news? Can Sinclair take the weight off Hogan’s shoulders? How will he do for you?
