Brentford are lining up a move for Barnsley striker Sam Winnall, according to journalist David Anderson of the Daily Mirror.

Anderson has revealed via his personal Twitter that West Ham United are set to complete a £12million swoop for Brentford forward Scott Hogan after productive talks were held between the two clubs this weekend.

Brentford are preparing for Hogan's departure and could make a bid for Barnsley forward Sam Winnall if he leaves.

The 25-year-old has been in red hot form for the Tykes over the past two seasons.

He has 11 goals in 22 league games for Barnsley this season, adding to his 23 strikes in League One last year.

Brentford have previously been linked with Dan Agyei as Hogan's replacement after the Burnley striker's loan finished at Coventry.

Watford's Jerome Sinclair has also been considered.

The report also states that Brentford are closing in on the £1.5m capture of Coventry starlet Ben Stevenson.

Brentford fans - can you land Winnall if Hogan leaves? Can you keep Hogan this January? Would you rather sign Winnall, Agyei or Sinclair? Are you excited by the potential arrival of Stevenson?
