Brentford are hoping to sign Moses Odubajo on a free transfer, according to The Yorkshire Post.

Odubajo has been a free agent since he chose not to extend his ties with Hull City this summer.

The 24-year-old has been out injured for the last two years and has been trying to regain his fitness during pre-season while looking for a new club.

Odubajo has trained with Celtic this summer but the Scottish Premiership champions were concerned by his injury record and opted against signing him.

The former Leyton Orient man then started training with his former club Brentford and he has impressed enough for the Bees to offer him a deal, despite suffering an injury setback.

The former England under-20 right-back, who can also play as a winger, spent one season at Griffin Park, playing 49 times in the 2014/15 season before moving to Hull.

Brentford are hopeful that he will agree to rejoin the West London club this summer.

The Verdict

Odubajo is a terrific natural talent and there is no doubt that he would be a Premier League regular by now if he hadn't suffered such a serious injury.

If he can get back to his level before he was injured, then Brentford would have arguably one of the best attacking right-backs in the Championship on their books.

The speedy full-back also needs a familiar environment to ease him back into football.
