Dean Smith has confirmed that Brentford will allow Jack Bonham to leave Griffin Park on-loan this summer, with the goalkeeper not guaranteed first-team football in the Sky Bet Championship, reports Get West London.

League Two duo, Carlisle United and Swindon Town are interested in signing Bonham, along with League One outfit, Bristol Rovers.

The trio have been alerted to Bonham’s availability, after the 23-year old found himself behind Daniel Bentley at Griffin Park during the 2016/17 campaign.

Bonham made just two appearances for the Bees last season, with only one of those coming in the Championship, as Bentley excelled in his debut campaign at Griffin Park.

Brentford have now signed Luke Daniels this summer, with the 29-year old goalkeeper adding to an already competitive position.

Speaking about Brentford’s plans for Bonham next season, Smith said: “We can't guarantee him a spot in the Championship at the moment just as we can't guarantee Dan Bentley or Luke Daniels.

“We'll try and get him games somewhere. We'll try and find a club that can suit us and Jack and he can go and start fulfilling his potential by going to play games.”

Since making his first-team debut in 2013, Bonham has been limited to just six senior appearances during spells with Watford and Brentford.

The 23-year old made his debut for Watford on the final day of the 2012/13 campaign, but after just one appearance, he left the club, before signing on a free for Brentford.

Bonham has made just one league start for the Bees since his arrival in 2013, with most of his appearances coming in the League Cup, and as his career begins to stall, it looks likely the goalkeeper will be spending the 2017/18 campaign looking for regular football in the lower leagues.
