Spanish side Eibar are set to sign Brentford star Jota, according to Spanish newspaper AS.
The former Celta Vigo attacker signed for Brentford in August 2014 following the club’s promotion from League One, and played a key part in the Bees’ shock raid on the Championship play-offs, scoring 11 goals before the club were knocked out by Middlesbrough.
He’s barely featured for the club this year after picking up an injury in pre-season that kept him on the sidelines for three months, and he’s only amassed five appearances so far this season, most of them off the bench.
The 24-year-old forward is now sent to sign for Spanish side Eibar, despite interest from Swansea City and Leicester City over the summer, subsequently dealing a bitter blow to the Bees’ play-off hopes.
They do however have Alan Judge, who has undoubtedly been one of the standout stars of the 2015/16 Sky Bet Championship season, who has gone on to score 10 goals already this season.
