Brentford fans will be keen for club to hold onto 31-y/o amid rumoured exit

Leeds United have reportedly registered their interest in signing Brentford goalkeeper, Luke Daniels according to Football Insider.

The Whites are reportedly keen to sign the shot-stopper ahead of the new season, with uncertainty remaining over Kiko Casilla and Bailey Peacock-Farrell’s futures at Elland Road.

They’ve evidently been pleased with what they have seen from Daniels, although it remains to be seen as to whether they will submit an official bid to sign him.

Daniels wasn’t a regular for Thomas Frank’s side last season, although he did make 12 appearances for the Bees towards the end of last year’s campaign due to Daniel Bentley being sidelined through injury.

But Bentley has recently left the club to join Bristol City, which means that Brentford fans will be hoping that Daniels remains with the club heading into the new season.

Pre-season is already underway, and Brentford need to have as strong a squad as possible, with the new Championship campaign getting underway in a month.

Daniels was hugely impressive last season for Frank’s side, although he could be tempted with a move to Elland Road, as Leeds have a greater chance at winning promotion into the Premier League.

So if you’re a Brentford supporter, then you’ll be hoping that the club can do everything they can to convince Daniels to extend his stay with them.

If he was to depart, then they wouldn’t have a senior goalkeeper available to them with just a month remaining until the start of the season, and it would be difficult to find an option as experienced as Daniels is in English football in such a short space of time.

Brentford are a club that have the potential to be a top six team in the near future, but they’ve often had their key players taken off them by other teams.

Therefore, the supporters will be hoping that this isn’t going to be the case once again with Daniels being the latest player to be linked with a move away from the club.

It’s set to be an interesting few weeks ahead in the transfer window at Brentford, and it could potentially be a season-defining month for the Bees.
