Sky Bet Championship side Brentford have cooled their interest in SM Caen and Mali international defender Molla Wague according to GetWestLondon.
Brentford where among a host of clubs interested in the 23-year old defender which included Leicester City, Crystal Palace and Norwich City.
It is thought Brentford have cooled their interest in Wague due to the lack of defensive shortages at the club following four defenders signing new deals with the club.
Wague, a Mali international, has featured 107 times for SM Caen during his four-year stint with the first team squad.
He was offered a new deal following the club’s promotion into Ligue 1. However, he rejected the offer to move abroad.
It is thought that now Leicester City are the front-runners to sign the defender but a deal is yet to be confirmed and he could very well move elsewhere.
