Brentford have signed Tarique Fosu and Shandon Baptiste from Oxford United for undisclosed fees.

Both were expected to complete the move today, and Thomas Frank get's them across the line for his fourth signing of the transfer window - Halil Dervisoglu signed from Sparta Rotterdam, whilst Emiliano Marcondes joined from FC Midtjylland.

Baptiste, 21, is a graduate of the Oxford United youth academy. He played a handful of games last season but has this time round been a prominent figure for Karl Robinson's side, making 17 appearances in League One and having scored a goal in all four competitions that Oxford have played in this season.

A midfielder, Baptiste has been utilised both in the middle and on the left of a midfield-three, boasting great technical and physical attributes.

Fosu meanwhile joined from Charlton Athletic in the summer and has found himself on the left of a front-three. He's enjoyed a prolific season in-front of goal having scored eight in 25 League One appearances, and ten in all competitions.

At 24-years-old, he'll likely have more of an involvement than Baptiste at first, but faces good competition to break into the side with Ollie Watkins, Bryan Mbeumo and Said Benrahma having the front-three on lock-down.
The verdict
These are two exciting players. Brentford have a proven recruitment strategy and fans will have every hope that Fosu and Baptiste will be two more quality signings, and two who'll go on to improve greatly at the club.
It looks like this might conclude Brentford's transfer window - a good month on the whole having kept their star players without any relative discomfort. Their recruitment has been exciting too, and it should ensure Frank's side a top-six finish come May.
