Brentford boss Mark Warburton has cooled speculation about recalling popular winger Sam Saunders from his loan spell with promotion chasing Wycombe Wanderers in League Two.
The speculation has grown in recent weeks due to the lack of attacking options available to the Bees off the bench, with only John Toral and Tommy Smith being regularly brought off the bench.
Questions had been asked as to why the young striker Betinho hasn’t featured and Warburton told Get West London: “He trains well but his job is to be better than Andre Gray.”
Saunders who has been at Griffin Park since 2009 recently extended his loan deal with Wycombe until the end of the season and Mark Warburton has stated that he is unlikely to recall the player.
“To bring him back and sit on the bench. If we need Sam I want him match fit. The decision was made not to call him back. When we need them, we can call them.”
With Brentford looking to secure a play-off place they will need to utilise their squad as they currently sit seventh in the Sky Bet Championship, three points off of sixth places Ipswich Town with three games remaining this season.
