Brentford boss issues positive update on injured players

Brentford will look to extend their unbeaten run to five games when they play Millwall at Griffin Park on Saturday.

The Bees have performed reasonably well this season but find themselves in 19th position having registered just one win all season – against bottom of the table Bolton.

Dean Smith’s side are still searching for their first home win, where they’ve drawn four of their five games.

However, ahead of the visit of the Lions, there was some positive news for Brentford fans on the injury front, with a few senior players getting a run out for the ‘B’ team in the week.

John Egan got concussed early on against Bolton Wanderers so it was good to see him play against Exeter on Tuesday. It was great that Lasse Vibe could get some minutes too. He will be available for the squad on Saturday, as will Andreas and John,” the club tweeted from Smith’s press conference.

There was more good news too, with another key man not too far away from returning.

Sergi Canos will be pushing for the squad next weekend.”

With such fine margins deciding the Brentford games so far this season, Smith will be extremely pleased to see so many influential players coming back.

The Verdict

Brentford should have more points on the board given their performances, but you can’t keep making the same excuses.

The corner may have turned in recent weeks as they’ve gone undefeated, however, they really need to show some consistency, starting on Saturday.

With the injury situation slightly easing, it’s now time for Dean Smith’s men to prove why they were the dark horses of many in pre-season.
