Brentford striker Aaron Pressley has been linked with a move to the Football League this summer, as per a recent report by Football Insider.

The 19-year-old is very highly rated by the Bees and was rewarded with a new contract by the newly promoted Premier League club last month.

It now appears that he could well be set for a loan move to the EFL, with the likes of AFC Wimbledon, Salford City, Forest Green Rovers, Stevenage and Leyton Orient all being touted as potential suitors for the towering frontman.

Pressley was previously on the books of Aston Villa's academy before joining the Brentford B team and has since gone on to feature at first team level on three separate occasions.

He will now be aiming to get some more minutes under his belt at a higher level next term as a loan move seemingly beckons for the teenager this summer.

The Verdict

Am I surprised to see Wimbledon being linked with yet another loan move for a Brentford player? Absolutely not, as he fits the profile of striker that Mark Robinson wants to bring into the club.

He is tall, strong and has bags of potential, which fits the overall mantra of what the Dons are trying to create at Plough Lane moving forwards.

The likes of Marcus Forss, Mads Bech Sorensen and Jaakko Oksanen have all thrived during loan spells with Wimbledon and it would be the ideal location for Pressley to move to on paper.

I can certainly see this deal being a possibility and I think there is every chance that he could thrive in Sky Bet League One if he was to make the move across London to SW19.

The Dons need a replacement for Joe Pigott and this move would tick a lot of boxes.
