Sky Bet Championship side Brentford are edging closer to signing striker Scott Hogan from Rochdale after reportedly agreeing a fee of around £750k with the League Two side, according to Sky Sports.

Hogan celebrates his goal against Leeds United in the FA Cup.

Hogan celebrates his goal against Leeds United in the FA Cup.

The 22 year old scored 17 goals as he helped The Dale to promotion last season, and was linked with a move to Leeds United and Birmingham, but the newly promoted Bees seem to be winning the race for Hogan’s signature.

Rochdale finished third under Keith Hill and will be playing in League One, but it seems to be that Hogan will be playing a level above that, as Brentford look to strengthen for their Championship campaign.

Moses Obujado from Leyton Orient and Andre Gray from Luton have already been added to the West London side’s forward options, but Hogan is rumoured to be heading to Griffin Park to further enhance their arsenal.
