Brentford agree deal to sell player to recently-relegated side

31-year-old Brentford striker Lasse Vibe’s contract is set to run out at the end of the season and the Bees look set to cash in on the striker.

According to Get West London, Brentford have received a £1m bid from Chinese Second Division side Yanbian FC and have agreed to sell Vibe at that price rather than see him leave for nothing in the summer.

The move would be quite the change of scene for Vibe, who would be swapping West London for a club on the border with Russia and North Korea.

Vibe has seven goals and one assist from 19 Championship appearances for the Bees this season and it remains to be seen whether Dean Smith will dive back into the transfer market to secure a replacement.

The Verdict

Sometimes an offer comes in that is too good to refuse and that is clearly how Brentford feel about this deal for Vibe.

If he wasn’t going to sign a new contract then they may as well take the money – but I think they will need to bring someone in to replace him.
