Sheffield United picked up a big three points against Leeds United on Saturday lunchtime, with Chris Wilder’s side 1-0 winners at Elland Road.  

Chris Basham was the unlikely matchwinner for the Blades, with the stand-in midfielder latching onto Billy Sharp’s square ball to score the game’s only goal.

As expected, the full-time whistle in Leeds brought wild celebrations from fans, players and management – something that Patrick Bamford was critical of when speaking to the Mirror.

The Leeds striker claimed that the celebrations looked like Sheffield United had already achieved promotion, before Bamford went on to insist the pressure is now on the Blades to deal with the lofty expectations.

However, Sheffield United fans have been quick to point out that they’ve been doing that for most of the season, in a similar way to Leeds.
