‘Breaks my heart’ – Plenty of Leeds fans react as Man United brush aside Chelsea

It was a nightmare start in charge of Chelsea for Frank Lampard, whose side fell to a 4-0 defeat against Manchester United at Old Trafford on Sunday.
The Red Devils brushed aside the Blues thanks to strikes from Marcus Rashford, Anthony Martial and debutant Daniel James. The latter came on with around 20 minutes left to play, and made it a dream start to his Old Trafford career by scoring in front of the Stretford End after impressive play from Paul Pogba.
It would have been a bittersweet afternoon for Leeds fans – they have had their differences with Lampard over the past year after the “Spygate” controversy, as well as the eventful Championship play-off semi-final encounter against Derby at Elland Road.
To see him lose in such fashion in his first game of charge of Chelsea will have lifted a smile or two, but to see former transfer target Dan James score on his Man United debut would have also come as a kick in the teeth.
Leeds were incredibly close to signing James from Swansea City last January, before the Welsh club pulled the plug on the deal in the latter stages of Deadline Day.
The Welsh winger has since gone from strength to strength since his collapsed move to Elland Road, with Leeds fans left wincing after missing out on such a talent.
Here, we take a look at Leeds fans’ reactions to events at Old Trafford yesterday…
Hate to say it but, @Daniel_James_97 is gonna be a @ManUtd legend.. Big shame he didnt sign for @LUFC!

#lufc. Every time I see or hear the name Daniel James I think of us not getting promoted last season.
