Leeds United owner Massimo Cellino has tonight agreed to sell Italian club Cagliari for €45m to Former Inter Milan board member and businessman Tommaso Giulini Here Is The City reports.

There was reports last night as expected the US consortium, represented by Luca Silvestrone, would have bought the Italian club after Cellino recieved a €10m deposit for the sale.

However as today (Thursday) progressed news broke that the takeover talks by the US consortium, represented by Luca Silvestrone, had brokendown and the takeover estimated at £65m was dead.

Cellino said: "There is no American investment group interested in acquiring Cagliari,I have not seen or heard from anyone since last Wednesday's meeting with Silvestrone and Dan Meis in Miami. No down payment of €10million has been received. From What I can gather they only be found through 'missing'. I only decided to meet with Silvestrone because I was asked by a number of fans to do so. I always had the impression that Silvestrone was just representing himself and not a group."

As the day continued news broke that Cellino had agreed to sell Cagliari for €45m to Former Inter Milan board member and businessman Tommaso Giulini Cellino said: "I've reached an agreement with Giulini for the sale of Cagliari. The Americans were stalling and wanted another 90 days' worth of time. I've accepted to sell to Giulini and the operation should be finished very soon. I wish them every success. Now my heart is in Leeds."

This means Cellino can just focus on Leeds United rather than the Yorkshire club and Cagliari.

Cellino admits nobody is taking control of the club
