Sunderland climbed into the League One automatic promotion places on Saturday thanks to a 2-0 victory away to Plymouth Argyle.

Two second-half goals from Aiden McGeady were enough to give Jack Ross's side all three points and leap-frog Peterborough United who lost away to Wycombe Wanderers.

The result ended Argyle's positive run of form and scuppered their chances of climbing out of the relegation zone.

Before the weekend the club had won their last two matches convincing, beating Gillingham 3-1 and Scunthorpe 4-1.

But that was scuppered on Saturday and the club clearly felt they deserved more.

After the match, the club's official account made a point of emphasising the stats that showed that Argyle may have been the better side.

But the Sunderland account bit back...

The tweet went down extremely well and was the latest in a long line of humorous posts by the club this season.
