Former Charlton Athletic midfielder Bradley Pritchard is close to signing for Leyton Orient, according to Sky Sports News.
Sky Sports are reporting that Pritchard is currently undergoing a medical at Brisbane Road. The midfielder is set to become Leyton Orient’s first signing since being taken over by Italian businessman Francesco Becchetti.
The Zimbabwean midfielder signed for Charlton in 2011 after spells with Nuneaton, Tamworth and Hayes & Yeading. The 28 year-old had previously been working for the Addicks as a performance analyst prior to becoming a player for the then League One side.
Pritchard played a key role as Chris Powell led Charlton to the League One title in 2012 and continued to feature heavily with the club in the Championship. The midfielder made 79 league appearances at the Valley, scoring three times.
The signing of Bradley Pritchard provides Leyton Orient with some much needed reinforcements following a summer of high profile player departures. The beaten League One play-off finalists have already lost keeper Jamie Jones and winger Moses Odubajo to Preston and Brentford respectively. The capture of Pritchard will be a morale boost after a week of rumours speculating that Dean Cox is also set to leave Brisbane Road.
