Blackburn look set for an immediate return to the Championship after a superb season in League One, but they must remain focused over the next eight games.

24-year old Bradley Dack has been pivotal in their ascent of the table and Shrewsbury's draw last night leaves Rovers top, one point clear of the Shrews.

Wigan have enough games in hand to overhaul both, but Blackburn's fate is now in their own hands.

“I think that (focus) has been there all season," Dack told the Lancashire Telegraph. "Obviously when you get to the business end of the season like we are now it is time to focus and to do everything we set out to do. Everyone in our dressing room knows what we want to do and the gaffer has drilled that into us.”

Dack, a summer capture from Gillingham, has been impressive in the centre of the park, scoring 15 times and providing seven assists. He's likely to be hot property in the summer after Chelsea had a £4m bid rejected in January.

Due to the international break, Blackburn are with a game this weekend, whilst most of their rivals have to play.

“I think the international break could be good," he added. "We're getting a break while all the other teams have got to play.”

The Verdict

Dack has had a great season and there's little doubt he's going to fire Blackburn back up to the Championship. Can they hang on to him through the summer though, that is the pertinent question. If they can, he's going to be crucial next campaign.
