The Goalkeepers

Nominees: Jojo Wollacott

Swindon Town have made a strong start to life back in League Two and the performances of the man between the sticks has been a key factor.

Having impressed previously on loan, Wollacott signed permanently from Bristol City in the summer and has already proven an excellent addition.

The 24-year-old made 18 saves in August and was pivotal as Swindon kept three clean sheets and conceded just three times in their first five league games of the season.

The Defenders

Nominees: Jon Guthrie

The Cobblers had one of the sternest defences in the division in August, conceding just three League Two goals all month, and Guthrie was their standout performer.

The centre-back marshalled the Northampton backline and helped his side keep three clean sheets in four games.

He also proved a danger in the opposition box and scored twice, including the winner against Colchester United.

The Midfielders

Nominees: Tyler Burey

The Millwall loanee has made an outstanding start to life in League Two and helped Hartlepool rise to fifth in their first month back in the EFL.

Burey’s energy and dynamism in midfield have quickly made him popular amongst the North East club’s fanbase but it’s his contributions in the final third that have earned him a place on this list.

In four games, the 20-year-old has scored three times and added an assist.

The Forwards

Nominees: Luke Armstrong, Jamille Matt, Andy Cook

Harrogate went unbeaten in August, taking 10 points from four games as they climbed to second in League Two.

While there have been impressive performances throughout the squad, a key factor in their this term rise has been Armstrong’s form.

As well as being a real asset in the air, the forward has scored three times and provided seven key passes.

With three goals and three assists this term, Matt contributed to nearly half of Forest Green’s goals in August.

The forward has showcased his quality as both a goalscorer and a creator, proving too much for opposition sides to handle as he’s helped his side make a breathtaking start to the season.

Forest Green are top of League Two as things stand with 12 points from five games and will be eyeing promotion this term.

Another team with their eyes firmly set on League One are Bradford and with a goalscorer like Cook, they should have a fantastic chance of doing just that.

The 30-year-old knows what it takes to score goals in the EFL and made a fast start to life with the Bantams last term after arriving in January.

He’s picked up where he left off this season as he scored four times and added an assist in August, as well as winning 66 aerial duels.
