There's a Yorkshire derby to look forward to in League 1 this weekend as Bradford and Rotherham go head-to-head at Valley Parade on Saturday afternoon.

The two sides will both feel as though a play-off place is attainable at the very least this season and the Bantams will certainly be aiming to go one step further than the final that they reached last season.

They've started this year, then, in pretty decent fashion with them in fourth in the table - five points behind early pace-setters Shrewsbury whilst Rotherham are just outside the play-off spots.

It should, then, be a good game this weekend between the two sides and the home team has been handed a welcome fitness boost by Stuart McCall - as per Leon Wobschall on Twitter:

No more fitness concerns for the Bradford boss at the moment, then, and he'll certainly be looking to use that to his advantage as they look to build on their good start to the campaign.

It is a derby game, though, and so as the old cliche goes, it could come down to who wants it more more than anything else on Saturday afternoon.

The Verdict

Bradford look to have shaken off the play-off final disappointment of last season pretty well and are looking well placed to once again challenge for those spots.

A win against Rotherham would obviously help that along, but it would also highlight that they can compete further up if they can beat a side that was in the Championship last season - though they were poor.
