Bradford City have signed Alan Sheehan from Notts County on a free transfer after the defender turned down a new deal at Meadow Lane.
Sheehan announced that he would not be returning by making a statement on Twitter he said “Just want to let everyone know I will be leaving Notts County. Gutted to leave a club I love but I think its time for a new challenge. I am very happy to have signed for Bradford City. A very big club with good ambition. Looking forward to getting started.”
Sheehan has signed a two-year deal with Bradford. He started his career at Leicester City before moving onto Leeds United. From Leeds he signed for Swindon Town that followed by his move to Notts County where he has spent the last three years of his career making 106 appearances scoring 6 goals for the club. Sheehan has also represented Republic of Ireland at Under 21 level.
