In the past two seasons, Bradford City have come so close to promotion but fallen at the final hurdle.

Two years ago they lost in the play-off semi-final and then last season they lost in the play-off final.

For several years now, the Bantams have been knocking on the door of promotion and they have been on the verge of achieving Championship football.

This summer, Bradford have recruited well, bringing in the likes of Dominic Poleon, Jake Reeves and Shay McCartan for their promotion push.

However, they have not yet replaced Rory McArdle, who was so instrumental at the back for them over the past five years.

His presence at centre half will be sorely missed and Bradford need to bring in another centre back to compete with Nathaniel Knight-Percival and Matthew Kilgallon.

They should be looking at Coventry City defender Jordan Willis to fill this role.

With Coventry struggling last season, Willis was one of the few shining lights in a dim season.

The 22-year-old already has way more than 100 senior appearances under his belt despite still being very young and despite losing a year through injury in the 2014/15 season.

Jordan Willis is strong, physical, quick and he seems to improve as each game goes by.

Comfortable at centre back or as a right back, the former England under-19 international is destined for bigger things and this would be an investment for Bradford City.

Willis has captained Coventry on many occasions and is a leader at the back.

With age still on his time, this would be a shrewd acquisition for the Bantams.
