Bradford City should move for this recently released winger regardless of the division

Although Bradford City’s focus is solely on the play-off final against Millwall, Stuart McCall may have started to make plans for the summer transfer window and next season.

The summer transfer window could prove vital for the West Yorkshire side.

If Bradford City does gain promotion to the Championship, there will be an expected high turnover of players.

However, if the West Yorkshire side stumbles at the final hurdle, Stuart McCall may use the transfer window to add further quality to enable the club to compete for automatic promotion.

After joining Sheffield United on loan from Chesterfield, one player who has most certainly impressed has been Jay O’Shea.

The 28-year-old winger made a number of notable goal contributions which helped Sheffield United not only gain promotion but to go up as champions.

Despite playing a bit-part role for Sheffield United this season, O’Shea still managed to score nine goals and provide six assists from 28 League One starts.

With Jay O’Shea’s contract at Chesterfield expiring in the summer, Sheffield United offered the Republic of Ireland winger a two-year contract at Bramall Lane.

However, with Jay O’Shea likely to only have a squad role at the newly-promoted Championship club, O’Shea made the difficult decision to turn down Sheffield United’s contract.

As O’Shea will be unattached in the summer, a number of League One clubs will be looking to secure the recently released winger’s services.

Bradford City who could well be joining Sheffield United in the Championship next season should be one of the clubs who show an interest, as Jay O’Shea has shown his quality this season within a rampaging Sheffield United side.

The signing of Jay O’Shea would be an astute signing for the West Yorkshire side regardless of the division that Stuart McCall’s side is playing in next season.

Bradford City fans, would you like to see Jay O’Shea join your club in the summer? Is he the calibre of player that you’d like to see Bradford signing? Do you think he would improve this Bradford City side? Let us hear your thoughts and opinions in the comment section below!
